UtsaWe: is a startup business that sells Indian festival products online.
About Product
UtsaWe is a startup company that competes in the business world with its Indian festival goods. Their online catalog is filled with 400+ products. At the moment they sell on retail websites like Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and many more. The project I worked on is going to help them build their own retail site. The website is designed to allow the company to continuously keep adding products as the business grows. The dynamic design also allows 100s of products while keeping the user experience simple and visually appealing.

A website can help small businesses increase flexibility, branding, and credibility. Studies show that eighty-four percent of U.S consumers believe a business with a website is more credible than one that only has a social media page.

My Role
Market Research
Nonprofit organizations of small business counselors and mentors supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration released figures showing only 51 percent of small businesses have websites, despite the fact that 97 percent of consumers search for products and services online.

Vice President of Marketing Bridget Weston Pollack said, “If a company or a small business doesn’t have an online presence, they are missing a huge percentage of the population that could be shopping at their store.”

Studies show that markets are very fluid. They change and introduce new trends all year around. Small businesses need to keep up with the changing trends to keep their business growing. When businesses don't adapt to new trends they start to fall apart.

When it comes to new trends, it's all about being at the right place at the right time. The right time refers to adapting the trend in its early stages, and the place refers to the location/platform where the majority of the sales come from. This means that companies need to keep studying the market to speculate on their next trend and alter their products. If a small business fails to deliver during the peak of the trend, then it will suffer a heavy loss.

Low-fidelity UI design
High-fidelity UI design
Once the initial flow was completed and wireframes were ready, I started creating a couple of the main screens of the website. Choosing a typeface and the set of colors were the two most important things. I creates a simple UI style guide to maintain consistency.

Accessibility check
The website has been evaluated for contrast to match at least AA standards. Even the frame was checked with the contrast checker tool WebAIM.
